The training programme covers the full spectrum of the materials and techniques for composites manufacturing. There are three different levels:

• Level I, for people who work with composites under supervision;
• Level II, for people who work with composites independently; and
• Level III, a more advanced level.

There are various ways of following the three courses:

• open registration courses, for small companies with few employees, and also for workers returning to work;
• in-company courses, to train employees at their own work place; and
• as part of the regular MBO (technical secondary education) programme at regional training centres (ROC), for example, in shipbuilding or mechanical engineering.

VKCN and VAPRO say that that they will support and advise the regional training centres (ROC) in adding the training programme for composites manufacturing to their curriculum. This support could include: educating teachers or providing external teachers, and finding companies to donate materials.  

VKCN is part of the Dutch Rubber and Plastics Federation, NRK.

VAPRO is headquartered in the Netherlands and provides assistance to governments and vocational education institutes in developing and implementing qualifications, competence-based curricula, and methods and techniques for workplace learning.
