Interplastic announces price increase for gel-coats

30 August 2011

Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division is raising the price of its CoREZYN® gel-coats and certain polyester colorants.

Interplastic reports that gel-coats will increase in price by US$0.10/lb and select polyester colorants by up to $0.25/lb effective for all shipments on, or after, 10 September 2011.

“This price change is a result of ongoing increases in titanium dioxide and other raw materials used in the processing of gel-coats, says Jim Luke, Business Manager, Gel Coat & Colorant Group, Interplastic.

"Titanium dioxide has seen increases to historically high levels and is in strong global demand. It is anticipated to be in short supply for the remainder of this year and into 2012.”

Interplastic’s Thermoset Resins Division is the manufacturer of CoREZYN® and Silmar® brand unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, speciality resins, gel-coats and colorants for the cast polymer, solid surface and composites industries.
