Lincoln Composites supplies pressure tanks to Peru

15 June 2011

Lincoln Composites has signed a US$5 million contract with Especialistas en Gas del Peru S.A.C. (EGP) for the supply of 40 ft TITAN™ high-pressure tanks and storage modules for use in Peru.

The TITAN tank is constructed from a high density polyethylene (HDPE) liner, filament wound carbon fibre/epoxy composite shell, and a polyurethane coating applied to the outer surface. The TITAN module houses four TITAN tanks.

With the introduction of the TITAN module, private industries in Peru that once relied on burning heavy fuels for power generation are now able to contract with EGP for the delivery of natural gas. EGP will use existing CNG mother stations connected to the pipeline infrastructure to load over 7300 kg of CNG on the TITAN storage modules for transport to their industrial users.

"We have been focusing on Peru as a critical market for the TITAN modules," says Lincoln Composites' Vice President of International Sales, Frank Haberli.

"The urgency with which the companies in the country are looking to utilise compressed natural gas demands an efficient solution for transporting large quantities of the fuel. The TITAN makes it possible to transport large amounts of gas to remote locations that would otherwise not prove economical."

Lincoln Composites, USA, is a business unit of Hexagon Composites ASA of Norway.
