Firehole Technologies and AeroMorphology take composites to UAV industry

19 May 2009

Firehole Technologies Inc, a provider of composite analysis and simulation software, is partnering with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) specialist AeroMorphology LLC to take Firehole’s solutions to the UAV industry.

AeroMorphology, based in Madison, Alabama, USA, is an engineering consultancy firm specialising in unmanned aircraft systems. The partnership will leverage AeroMorphology’s understanding of the UAV industry to develop targeted marketing and technology demonstrations for UAV OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.

"Composites are absolutely critical to the UAV industry. If we can help optimise design, we can allow for additional weight savings — that in turn means more fuel and longer missions,” says Jason Gies, VP of Business Development at Firehole Technologies. “Through both our specialised analysis software and almost 110 years combined composites experience, we believe we can bring tangible results to those responsible for the design and analysis of UAVs."

Firehole Technologies, Laramie, Wyoming, USA, supplies computer-aided simulation software and services for composite materials to the aerospace, defence, automotive and energy industries.

"In the past few years, we have built some game-changing technologies for simulating composite material structures,” says Jerad Stack, Firehole’s CEO. “Through our Industry Solution Partner programme, we are building strategic alliances to take our products and services into new vertical markets."
