BASF says it intends to fully integrate Ciba into the BASF Group, starting with a ‘discovery phase’ during which BASF and Ciba will “analyse the acquired businesses in depth.” The actual integration process will start in July 2009.

Ciba, a specialty chemicals company, is headquartered in Basel, Switzerland and focuses on plastic additives, coating effects, and water and paper treatment.
