Composite aircraft wins Young Aerospace Engineer award

A team developing a radio-controlled full composite aircraft will be the winner of this year’s Young Aerospace Engineer of the Year Technology and Innovation Award at the Aerospace Testing & Manufacturing Expo in Munich on 21-23 April 2009.

The award, sponsored by MTS, will be presented to Dimitrios Sikoutris and his team from the University of Patras, Greece, for the Atlas Project – the development of a radio-controlled full composite aircraft. The project will be presented at the show.

Careers in engineering

Aerospace Testing will also have a focus on careers in engineering in response to the global skills shortage plaguing the industry. New and experienced engineers will have the opportunity to meet with prospective employers on the Engineering Careers Trail.
