Installation of a 1.2 MW tidal power turbine is currently underway on the seabed of the fast flowing waters of Strangford Narrows, Northern Ireland. The SeaGen turbine developed by Marine Current Turbines Ltd (MCT), Bristol, UK, features two 8 m long composite rotor blades.
