LM Glasfiber plans second US plant
DANISH WIND turbine blade producer LM Glasfiber is planning
to open a new facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA. Scheduled
to begin operations in the first quarter of 2008, the plant will
employ over 1000 people within five years.
LM says the Little Rock plant will enable it to serve its growing
portfolio of customers in North America. Last year, the USA led
the world in adding new wind power capacity.
Little Rock will be the company’s third North American plant.
It already has sites in Grand Forks, North Dakota, USA, and Gaspé,
Quebec, Canada.
LM expects to sign the agreement with the State of Arkansas and
the city of Little Rock soon.
