Ashland expands epoxy vinyl ester capacity

ASHLAND COMPOSITE Polymers, Dublin, Ohio, USA, says that it is increasing production capacity for its DERAKANE® and HETRON® epoxy vinyl ester resins to meet increasing demand for the products.

“We recognize that the markets for our DERAKANE and HETRON resins are rapidly growing, so over the next two years we will be adding the necessary capacity in the Americas and elsewhere to meet that demand,” says Andy Beer, global manager of Ashland’s composite polymers, building and construction business.

The resins are used to manufacture corrosion-resistant composite equipment for wastewater treatment, chemical processing and mining industries. They can also be used in air pollution control applications and wind turbine blades.
