CFM introduced by Composite Reinforcements

COMPOSITE Reinforcements, a supplier of reinforcements to the UK composites industry, is introducing a range of continuous filament mat (CFM) products and a chopped strand mat/continuous filament mat (CSM/CFM).

The CFM products are for use in composite moulding applications such as pultrusion, resin transfer moulding (RTM), vacuum infusion and hand lay-up, and can be used with unsaturated polyester, epoxy, phenolic and polyurethane resin systems. They have good fibre distribution and resin wet-out, and there are additional grades available for electrical battery separator applications.

The new CSM/CFM material is said to combine the performance of CFM with the easy use of CSM. Customers using the product can expect increased moulding strength in hand lay-up, one of the applications for which the combination material can be used.
