PA 66 Dinalon light on its feet

GRUPO REPOL’S Dinalon® 20% carbon fibre reinforced polyamide 66 (PA 66) is being used by Aceplast, a Spanish producer of plastic injected footwear soles for sportswear, for its premium cycling footwear soles.

Cycling footwear should ideally combine high rigidity with low weight, reducing the amount of weight a cyclist has to carry. For this reason, carbon fibre reinforcement is said to be a good choice for the interior of cycling footwear soles; it offers the same tensile modulus of glass fibre reinforcement but has a lower density.
