Aptimise Composites acquires PCC

APTIMISE COMPOSITES LLC, Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA, has acquired Plastic Composites Company (PCC), also of Fort Wayne, a moulder of aerial tower and utility truck lift truck buckets manufactured from glass reinforced plastic.

As well as the truck buckets, PCC produces custom moulded industrial components for recreational vehicles, doors and windows, and other markets.

The new firm will operate under the Plastic Composites brand name.

The purchase of PCC will bring a renewed emphasis on product development and growth.

“PCC will expand into new markets and new technologies within the next six months," says Dan Templeton, Aptimise Composites' CEO. "We are starting research and development in vehicle components and building products immediately.”

Steve Kepler will be PCC's new General Manager.

“One of the first things we will do is to ready the plant operations for the planned growth," he says. "To do this, we will boost the manufacturing process through the application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies very soon. We plan on being ISO9000 certified by the end of the 2008.”

Aptimise Composites was established in early 2008 to focus on the operations and improvement of companies engaged in manufacturing of all types of composites.
