Core Molding Technologies to acquire Premix

CORE MOLDING Technologies Inc, Columbus, Ohio, USA, is to acquire Premix Holding Co, for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition is expected to close early in 2007.

Premix is a privately-held US manufacturer of thermoset compounds and a moulder of composite products. It is based in North Kingsville, Ohio, with additional operations in Bay City, Michigan. Premix serves a broad range of industries including the appliance, electrical, light vehicle, commercial vehicle, construction and marine sectors.

Core Molding Technologies is a compounder of sheet moulding compound (SMC) and moulder of composite products for the truck, car, personal watercraft and other markets. It operates plants in Columbus and Batavia, Ohio, Gaffney, South Carolina, and Matamoros, Mexico.

"We believe the acquisition of Premix strongly supports our market diversification strategy and helps mitigate the cyclical nature of our existing businesses," says James L. Simonton, Core’s president and chief executive officer.
