Enhanced glass-fibre reinforced PA launched

TECHNOCOMPOUND GMBH, based in Bad Sodernheim, Germany, has introduced a glass fibre reinforced polyamide (PA) with enhanced mechanical properties.

The new formulation for PA 6 and PA 6.6 boosts notched impact strength by more than 70% and flexural strength by around 10% when compared with glass fibre reinforced PA with the same fibre glass content. The material can be used as a substitute for aluminium die casting and is a cheaper alternative to partly aromatic glass fibre reinforced PA.

Applications include housings for electrical appliances and rigid housing components for industrial equipment, as well as coolant reservoirs, fans and valve covers for the automotive industry.
