Johns Manville launches roving products
DENVER, USA-based Johns Manville has introduced two roving products from its European Reinforcements business – StarRov® 908 and MultiStar™ 277.
StarRov 908 is the latest in the StarRov product line and is intended for high speed pultrusion applications. It has been designed with a package of surface sizings that are said to improve the coupling with a number of resin systems such as unsaturated polyester, vinyl esters and epoxies. The product also helps reduce fuzz generation and fibre breaks in the pultrusion process.
MultiStar 277 is for sheet moulding compound (SMC) applications and follows on from the launch of MultiStar 267 in 2006. It is claimed that MultiStar 277 gives a Class A surface when formulated for automotive exterior part applications. MultiStar 267 has already been employed successfully in SMC applications for the automotive, industrial and electrical industries.
Both products are manufactured at Johns Manville’s Trnava facility in Slovakia, which the company says is the largest integrated glass fibre plant in Europe.
