Gurit reports sales increase of 26.6%

GURIT, HEADQUARTERED in Wattwil, Switzerland, has smashed its own sales target of CHF365 million for the 2006 financial year by reporting sales of CHF381.3 million. This figure represents an increase of 26.6% on 2005’s results. 

Material and technology supplies to the wind energy industry have been a major factor in the positive sales growth. Future growth is expected to be further supported by the company’s expansion and realignment projects including: the start-up of prepreg material production in Canada; the construction of a new subsidiary in China; the transfer of certain prepreg manufacturing machinery from the UK to China; and the consolidation of production of extruded winter sports material in Switzerland.
